What you need to know to export Chapter 05

Chapter 05 products are intermediate inputs for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food processing and industrial manufacturing. They are not finished consumer goods: your buyer is typically a processor or formulator, not a retail brand.

Packaging must protect product integrity during transit and storage. Many Chapter 05 products are hygroscopic or sensitive to contamination: invest in sealed containers and desiccants if moisture or dust risk is high.

Germany, China and the US together absorb over 50% of world imports in this chapter. Germany and the Netherlands are entry points to the EU processing industry. China imports for re-export and domestic use in cosmetics and traditional medicine.
